Greystones Town Council and Holyhead Town Council are exploring the possibility of twinning both towns.  Representatives of both towns have recently had exploratory discussions to expand the issue further.  Greystones is a town in Co. Wicklow Ireland and is similar in size to Holyhead  I am sure most of you will be aware that from South Stack on a clear day you can see the Wicklow mountains.  Pictured below are representatives from Holyhead Town Council, Holyhead Maritime Musuem, Holyhead and District Round Table and representatives from Greystones Town Council, This picture is a visit to the town’s Fire Station on St Patrick’s Day – 17 March 2011.  The concept of twinning Holyhead and Greystones is to foster and expand the links for the benefit of the youth, elderly and business communities in both towns .  This will be taken forward via a Twinning Committee if both towns agree to twin.  If you have a local group and you are interested in nominating a member from that group to sit on the Twinning Committee, please contact the Town Clerk Mr C Ll Everett at the Town Hall Holyhead.
